About the Role
New opportunity within our large Engineering organization for a Test Engineer as part of a new opening position in Connectivity Test Center. This role will be part of a new team based in Bucharest which will work closely with the wider team. This is a newly formed team. Our goal is to build out our Connectivity Test Coordinating team operating from our strategic site in Bucharest providing experienced and dynamic team members to support multiple roles across our portfolio of global projects. This is an extremely exciting time to get involved, to help develop and shape innovative technology and drive change throughout the organization.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications using industry-standard frameworks and tools.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA team members to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Integrate AI-powered testing tools and frameworks to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and defect detection.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new automation technologies, including AI/ML-based solutions, to improve testing processes.
- Develop and maintain test data, environments, and documentation to support automated testing.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for test automation and quality assurance.
- Monitor and report on test execution, coverage, and quality metrics, leveraging AI-driven analytics where applicable..
- Review software specifications and testing procedures

What You Need to be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other similar specialization
- Good programming knowledge in Python (5+ years of experience)
- Good knowledge of LLMs
- AI-driven test strategy & validation mindset
- Good analytical skills to understand, evaluate and provide solution for given complex scenarios and case studies.
- Hands on experience with any market available test frameworks or customer proprietary test framework
- Version Control Systems experience (preferably Git)
- Hands on experience in code development, debugging, troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of Embedded System and Automotive Products.
- Understand the SW and HW architecture of various platform variants.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the different Telematics domains like OTA, GNSS, E-Call, Positioning, 4G/5G, Wifi, V2X, Remote Services, Security
- Good experience in test methods, processes, error management and tools.
- Knowledge of standard industry communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc
- Team player skills with a “can do” attitude.
- Understanding about diagnosis topics of a vehicle and about diagnostic communication protocols used in electronic control units.
- Knowledge of the V-model software development process
- Understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., chatbots, data analysis platforms, automation software)
Bonus Points if You Have
- ISTQB Certification and ASPICE knowledge
- Knowledge in Python framework like Robot or pychamp
- Automation / engineering domain script development (hands on) experience with Python
- Knowledge with repository software’s like Jira, IBM tools
- Experience in Agile/SCRUM
- HW experience with configuration different setups
- Knowledge in ALM is beneficial.
