As Senior Terrorism Tracker Analyst, you will manage TerrorismTracker, our terrorism events database. You'll make sure the data is accurate, up to date, and useful for intelligence analysis and risk assessments.
You will be a specialist in global terrorism trends and help colleagues and clients understand developments in this field. You'll also work closely with data scientists and engineers to improve automation in data collection and categorisation. Over time, you will help develop the database into a wider political violence data product.
You'll also contribute to other products, such as the Travel Risks Monitor (TRM), SIAS reports, data visualisations, and client briefings.
About the TeamDragonfly, part of Dow Jones, provides global security and geopolitical risk intelligence. We help businesses, international organisations, and public-sector clients understand and respond to risks — from conflict zones to corporate boardrooms.

Our main service, the Security Intelligence & Analysis Service (SIAS), delivers current and forward-looking intelligence for professionals in security, crisis management, and intelligence roles. You will report to the Crisis & Operational Risks Lead.
You Will- Research and monitor terrorism-related incidents using open sources, checking the reliability of information.
- Keep the terrorism events database accurate, complete, and correctly categorised.
- Work with data science and engineering teams to make data collection and processing more automated and efficient.
- Analyse terrorism and political violence data to create reports, weekly summaries, and briefings.
- Share insights on terrorism trends with analysts and respond to client questions.
- Help refine research methods to maintain high-quality analysis.
- Meet deadlines, solve problems proactively, and communicate clearly.
- Represent Dragonfly and the TerrorismTracker product professionally.
- Follow all relevant policies, including our extremist content policy.
- Demonstrable experience researching and analysing terrorism, political violence, insurgencies, or extremism.
- Experience doing impartial, thorough open-source research.
- Skills in managing and improving databases with close attention to accuracy.
- A strong interest in terrorism and political violence trends, tactics, and ideologies.
- Ability to analyse complex data and handle sensitive topics objectively.
- Some practical knowledge of automation and data science tools or methods.
- Experience working well in a team and following clear processes.
