Role: The Territory Sales Manager is entrusted with the leadership, management, and coordination of the sales and marketing activities related to growing business profitably within the assigned customer base or region. The Territory Sales Manager will deliver the highest level of customer service and sales support while honoring the company Statement of Purpose. This individual is expected to be the consummate expert on the products and services provided by Alliance Door Products, thereby addressing our corporate goal of connecting customer needs to supplier solutions.

HOURS: Full-time position. Monday through Friday.

WAGE: $75,000–$95,000 annually, salaried (depending on experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct oneself with the highest levels of Integrity, positively representing the company and employees in a trustworthy and sincere manner.
  • Provide constructive and professional communication to team members within the branch.
  • Ability to travel regularly within the prescribed territory.
  • Be an expert on Alliance products and services. Be knowledgeable of product applications and installation processes.
  • Acquire an advanced understanding of the branch's shop, warehouse, and shipping processes.
  • Ability to proficiently navigate the company's sales software systems.
  • Grow business profitably by expanding opportunities with existing customers and through the development of new customers who meet the profile criteria and creditworthiness guidelines established by the company.
  • Make routine scheduled visits on the assigned customer base commensurate with the volume of business done and/or the potential for business with each specific customer.
  • Be the point person for job site issues, product inspections, and product returns (RMAs) in collaboration with the appropriate Alliance team members to provide a customer resolution in keeping with the company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular professional development as it relates to Alliance's products, services, customer service, and company policies as well as competitive market products and trends.
  • Regularly schedule and conduct product knowledge (PK) meetings within the assigned territory.
  • Travel with select vendor representatives to conduct product knowledge (PK) meetings within the assigned territory to strengthen the vendor/distributor/customer relationship.
  • Facilitate and participate in vendor plant tours, strategically involving customers to cultivate customer relationships and confidence.
  • Recommend and assist in the creation of marketing programs and promotions specific to the assigned territory.
  • Execute, in a timely fashion, all promotions and pricing programs created to support sales of prescribed products and services.
  • Submit a weekly report of activities utilizing the CRM tool or other format as prescribed by the company. This will include competitive intelligence learned in the marketplace.
  • Prepare a sales projection forecast annually, by product category, for each existing customer and any projected new customers.
  • Identify specific territory goals and initiatives annually. This will be achieved by utilizing the Fundamental Foundation Activities format prescribed by the company. These initiatives will be commensurate with the branch and corporate objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding challenges and opportunities, and recommend a course of action to be taken.
  • Ability to work independently, with effective time management, with minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience working in territory development and management.
  • Familiarity with the millwork industry or the building industry is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate concisely and clearly in both written and verbal exchanges.
  • Significant experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel software is a must.

TRAVEL

This position necessitates traveling, with an average of one overnight stay per week within the designated territory. A current and valid driver's license is required for this role due to the travel obligations.
