Job Summary & Responsibilities

AFC Industries is a dynamic organization dedicated to providing supply chain management solutions for fasteners and assembly components to original equipment manufacturers, assembly plants, and other users of these products.

We support a diverse industry base of manufacturers across a broad range of industries. Our experienced team has a proven track record of helping manufacturers and assemblers reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency.

We are A Company Culture Devoted to Innovation & Improvement

AFC provides localized expertise to customers in particular industries and geographies. We don't have a traditional hierarchical management structure where everyone simply "reports up." Instead, our company is made up of on-the-ground experts operating in an entrepreneurial fashion with the backing and support of an enterprise-grade organization.

Sharing cultural values breeds consistency and quality throughout our organization. Collectively, we are committed to a simple management approach, which influences our company culture and our management style.

AFC Industries, a leading distributor of industrial fasteners and assembly components, is looking for an experienced Territory Sales Manager to join their sales team in the Texas area.

Territory Sales Manager Position Overview

The Territory Sales Manager will support and develop a strategic, multi-site customer relationship across multiple manufacturing locations.

This position will serve as a primary day-to-day commercial point of contact, developing strong relationships with customer purchasing, supply chain, operations, engineering, and plant-level personnel. The Territory Sales Manager will work closely with sales leadership and internal AFC teams to ensure customer requirements are understood, communicated, and executed effectively.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with manufacturing or industrial customers and an understanding of inventory programs, supply chain, and manufactured or engineered products. Deep technical or manufacturing expertise is not required; however, the candidate must have the aptitude and willingness to learn AFC's products, manufacturing capabilities, and the customer's applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships across multiple customer facilities and levels of the organization.
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day commercial contact for assigned customer locations.
  • Support Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and other customer inventory and replenishment programs.
  • Monitor customer inventory, consumption, forecasts, open orders, lead times, and changing requirements.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and inventory/business reviews.
  • Identify customer needs, service issues, new opportunities, and potential risks and coordinate the appropriate internal response.
  • Develop a working knowledge of structural fasteners, manufactured components, machined parts, and other engineered products supplied to the customer.
  • Work with customer purchasing, supply chain, operations, and engineering teams to understand requirements and coordinate solutions.
  • Support quoting, pricing discussions, new product opportunities, and customer projects.
  • Coordinate internally with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, operations, customer service, and sales leadership.
  • Support new program and product launches by coordinating customer requirements, timing, inventory needs, and internal execution.
  • Identify opportunities for VMI expansion, kitting, consolidation, inventory optimization, and additional product penetration.
  • Assist with commercial agreements, pricing reviews, and contract discussions in partnership with sales leadership.
  • Maintain visibility to customer projects, upcoming demand, operational changes, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Travel regularly between customer facilities and AFC locations within the assigned territory.
Ideal Background

The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial sales, account management, manufacturing, industrial distribution, supply chain, or a related customer-facing role.

Experience with some combination of the following is preferred:

  • Manufacturing or industrial customers
  • Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or inventory programs
  • Industrial distribution
  • Fasteners, machined parts, fabricated components, or other manufactured products
  • OEM customers
  • Multi-site account management
  • Supply-chain and inventory concepts
  • Project-based customer requirements
  • Kitting or value-added programs
  • Commercial pricing and negotiations
  • ERP/MRP or inventory management systems

Specific fastener or manufacturing-process expertise is not required. The successful candidate must instead demonstrate the ability to learn technical products, understand customer applications, and effectively coordinate technical or manufacturing questions with the appropriate internal resources.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, commercially capable, organized, and operationally aware.

The successful candidate should be comfortable spending time inside customer manufacturing facilities, building relationships across multiple functions, reviewing inventory and business requirements, identifying opportunities, and coordinating solutions internally.

They should be able to recognize when an issue requires additional technical, manufacturing, or commercial support and effectively engage the appropriate resources rather than being expected to independently solve every aspect of the customer's operation.

This position offers the opportunity to develop deeper expertise in engineered products, manufacturing, supply chain, and strategic account management while working closely with sales leadership and AFC's operational teams.
