The Territory Sales Manager Eastern Europe is responsible for owning, managing, and growing Cepheid’s business across Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, and Romania, driving sustainable revenue growth through territory planning, distributor enablement, installed base expansion, and new business development.

This position reports to Commercial Sales Leadership and is part of the Sales organization, located in Eastern Europe, and will be a field‑based role, working remotely with frequent travel across the assigned territory.
The ideal location for this role is Hungary (Budapest).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Deliver sustainable growth by expanding Cepheid adoption across hospitals, laboratories, and other testing environments.

  • Build durable customer partnerships with clinical, operational, and procurement stakeholders to increase satisfaction and retention.

  • Lead the full sales cycle from discovery and value positioning through proposal, tender execution, negotiation, and deal closure.

  • Enable distributor sales teams through joint customer visits, account planning, and opportunity progression.

  • Apply the Danaher Business System (DBS) to drive continuous improvement and identify new growth opportunities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Medical or Laboratory disciplines, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Proven field sales experience in molecular diagnostics, medical devices, laboratory solutions, or complex B2B healthcare environments.

  • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of PCR‑based technologies and molecular diagnostic workflows.

  • Demonstrated success managing consultative, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles and high‑value purchasing decisions.

  • Strong territory planning, account management, and business development capabilities with a structured, data‑driven approach.

  • Consistent use of CRM systems for opportunity management, forecasting, and performance reporting.

  • Fluency in English; additional local languages relevant to the Eastern Europe territory are a strong advantage.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

  • Ability to travel approximately 70% across Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, and Romania, including overnight stays as required.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to work in hospital and laboratory environments in accordance with site‑specific safety requirements.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Selling molecular diagnostics, including infectious disease, syndromic testing, or point‑of‑care solutions.

  • Familiarity with public procurement, tender processes, distributor models, and contracting dynamics in Eastern Europe.

  • Ability to translate clinical and operational value into a clear business case for customers and procurement stakeholders.
