The Opportunity

Are you a driven B2B sales professional looking to take full ownership of a lucrative, protected territory? As a Territory Manager, you will aggressively expand and preserve GFL’s commercial footprint across businesses and industrial establishments in your assigned market.

You’ll act as a strategic consultant, conducting waste stream analysis, delivering tailored product and equipment presentations, and securing high-value accounts through cold-calling, relationship building, and market penetration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Revenue & Growth: Solicit orders from prospective and current B2B accounts to expand market share and maximize margins.

  • Exclusive Territory Management: Actively cold-call, network, and compile prospect pipelines (using ACT database) across your exclusive territory.

  • Consultative Selling & Presentations: Perform detailed customer needs analyses, waste stream evaluations, and formal sales presentations for commercial placements, roll-off systems, compaction equipment, and recycling solutions.

  • Pricing Strategy: Provide customized price quotes, contract terms, and margin calculations while evaluating service costs and local profit/loss dynamics.

  • Community & Business Liaison: Represent GFL at business meetings, trade functions, civic organizations, and municipal/governmental bid opportunities.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity and assist leadership in identifying strategic acquisition candidates.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of proven B2B sales experience with a deep understanding of consultative sales techniques (industry experience in solid waste/environmental services is a plus!).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college/university (or an equivalent combination of education and direct sales experience).

  • Skills: Strong verbal communication, negotiation skills, business writing, and the ability to compute margins, volume metrics, and pricing structures.

  • Self-Motivated: Proven capability to self-direct daily field activities with minimal supervision.

  • License: Valid state driver's license with the ability to travel extensively throughout the territory.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Extended periods of territory driving and client field visits.

  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).

  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs occasionally.
