Has complete ownership and responsibility for fleet growth, facility upkeep, driver, and non-driver staff performance. Develop future leaders.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Effectively supervise and manage personnel to include interviewing, hiring qualified candidates, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance,
disciplining, addressing complaints, resolving problems.
* Meet deadlines, make decisions promptly, ensure timely and accurate response to various reports and communication with others.
* Lead and motivate direct reports by ensuring every team member understands their role and their personal impact to the organization.
* Conduct frequent coaching of direct reports and provide initiatives to assist in professional development opportunities.
* Evaluate Driver satisfaction, retention, and turnover; facilitate rapid solutions to driver questions and problems and serve as the primary channel of
communication for drivers.
* Implement necessary changes to improve/increase productivity and driver retention.
* Utilize company and department reports in order to identify opportunities for improvement in all areas such as fleet productivity, equipment utilization etc.
* Collaborate with Shop department personnel to ensure the organization's needs are met regarding equipment availability.
* Attend driver recruiting events as needed.
* Travel to off-site locations as required for training and back-up assistance.
* Keep informed of company and department policies and procedures.
* Ensure facilities and grounds are property maintained, cleaned, and repaired as needed to meet organization requirements and customer expectations.
* Provide executive management with recommendations regarding improvements within overall organization.
* Maintain cost control to maximize the organization's bottom-line profitability.
* Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
* Receives and carries out instructions.
* Maintains regular and predictable attend
