Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications, requirements, or budget to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the company. Each day, you will maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers in your area of responsibility. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting and collating the information required to prepare proposals, including both technical and cost elements.
The work model for the role is:hybrid.
This role is contributing to Electrification Business Area, Distribution Solution Division in Japan.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.
- Creating well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
- Managing the preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
- Ensuring that inputs for editing activities related to bid, estimate, and quotation preparation are provided in a timely manner and in accordance with the established quality procedures.
Qualifications for the role
- Technical Proposal Management: Drive the sales process from RFQ (Request for Quotation) by developing technical specifications and creating winning proposals and quotations.
- Solution Sales Focus: Work with the sales team to propose customized, value-driven solutions that meet customer budgets and abstract technical requirements across various industrial sectors.
- Core Responsibility: Ensure profitable order acquisition through competitive bidding and accurate technical cost estimation while achieving high-profit margins for the company.
- Experience: Requires experience in the complete industrial equipment sales cycle, specializing in solution selling, Technical Sales, or Tendering.
- Language & Education: Requires technical college or a university degree, Fluent Japanese, and proficient written English for technical communication with manufacturing plants.
