ABOUT THE ROLE

Hey you! Yes, you! We can tell you’re a numbers wiz who’s obsessed with organizing spreadsheets. And you’re in luck because goodr is looking for a Temporary Staff Accountant who knows how to juggle daily tasks and long-term finance projects like a pro. If you’ve got a strong background in accounting (bonus points if it’s within the consumer goods world) and you geek out about working with both revenue and inventory, we’d be stoked to meet you. You’ll need to be an epic prioritizer—because we’ve got a lot of moving parts, and need someone who can keep it all in line without losing their cool. Monthly sales tax reports? Don’t threaten us with a good time! So bring your A-game to our fast-paced team that doesn't take itself too seriously.

**Note: This is a Full-Time TEMPORARY position from Mid-May 2025 through August 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare various journal entries for month-end close
  • Assist in various accounts and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Analyze financial data to discover patterns and/or discrepancies
  • Research financial transactions discrepancies 
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assist with testing transaction flow in ERP system (Netsuite) and impact to GL
  • Track inventory and freight costs 
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • This role is in the Finance team and will report directly to the Director of Finance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

  • May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
  • Strong communication skills–enjoys working with the accounting team as well as cross-functionally representing the interests of the accounting team with other departments
  • Loves everything above
  • Asks a lot of questions 
  • 3+ years of proven working experience in accounting (CPA or Public Accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory, GAAP, and internal controls
  • A master of Netsuite, Microsoft Excel, Smart View and everything Google
  • Experience with Startup/E-commerce Company is highly desirable
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • A self-starter who can coordinate multiple departments and hold people accountable
  • Dependable with the willingness to take the initiative to work collaboratively and with a sense of urgency
  • Loves the work more than a paycheck 
  • Thinks accounting is fun!
  • Is happy to give away credit to their team 
  • Loves getting and giving feedback 
  • Is into personal growth
  • Thinks Fun is being great (not partying) 
  • Is proactive and an independent problem solver! (Can you google a question?)

WHAT YOU GET
