Singleton Schreiber is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Temporary Settlement Accounting Specialist to support the Accounting team. This role is responsible for managing client settlement payments and maintaining accurate financial records. The accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial transactions.
This position will be a 10+ week full-time in office temporary position. Target start date: 09/30/2026
The Settlement Accounting Specialist supports firm financial operations by managing settlement-related accounting processes, coordinating with internal teams, and maintaining accurate and compliant accounting records.
Key Responsibilities:

Exceptional data entry skills with a focus on verifying payment instructions

Processing client settlement payments
-
Reviewing Client Settlement Distribution Agreements

Conducting audits of payments made and attorney fee splits

Assisting the Settlement Accounting team as needed

Filing and maintaining accounting documents

Handling internal and external inquiries concerning client’s payment

Performing additional duties needed to support the accounting department
Qualifications and Requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks.

1+ years of general accounting experience or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies, or Economics.

Law firm experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent administrative, written, and verbal communication skills.
