JOB SUMMARY:
Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity. Updates and maintains new or existing customer specs along with all appropriate rates, routings, and other requirements for all value streams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Disposition of orders that are entered by Sales
- Creation and entry of shop orders (i.e. fabrication of all intermediate stock points as well as all custom parts)
- Analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements
- Management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected items to meet production schedules
- When applicable creates schedule for all equipment in area of responsibility
- Monitor open order schedules for issue of products and timely completion
- Processes new part put up/spec entry
- Monitors product levels to ensure steady flow and maximize equipment up time
- Interface with Operations, Purchasing and Management on material status and production planning issues
- Review and update job scheduling per expedite requests.
- Performs trend analysis
- Work effectively with coordinators to ensure material is issued correctly and in a timely manner.
- Participate in regular review of pull demand and recommend lot sizes and safety stock required.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Microsoft Office, scheduling and data management.
- Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
- Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation
EDUCATION
- Associate degree preferred.
- Two to four years of experience in a production planning/materials controls function or equivalent combination of education and experience.
