Job Description Summary:
Fenwick is seeking a Temporary Specialist to support the firm’s high-performing Pitch & Proposal team, who will focus on preparing targeted and strategic client pitch materials, RFP responses, and other high-impact proposals that showcase the firm’s industry-leading expertise in the technology and life sciences sectors. The Specialist will collaborate closely with partners and marketing colleagues to deliver polished, persuasive, and effective pitch and proposal content that drives revenue growth. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, and able to take initiative and work independently.This is a full-time exempt position and can be based in any of our U.S. office locations and some remote locations. For office-based candidates, this role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work both from home and at your designated Fenwick office. The frequency of in-office work will be determined by business needs and guided by your department's directives.
Job Description:
Proposal & Pitch Development
- Partner with attorneys and BD leadership to strategize, draft, and customize responses to RFPs, RFIs, and pitch opportunities.
- Leverage the firm’s experience database and matter summaries to craft compelling, client-focused narratives and case studies.
- Ensure all proposal materials are consistent with firm brand standards, messaging, and voice.
- Conduct initial research on prospective clients to provide insights that inform proposal strategy and positioning.
Sales Pipeline Support
- Track, manage, and report on proposal activity, success metrics, and win/loss outcomes.
- Assist in debriefs/postmortems with attorneys to assess proposal effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Content & Resource Management
- Maintain and update firm-wide pitch templates, attorney biographies, practice descriptions, and relevant marketing collateral.
- Manage experience management systems, CRM (Salesforce), and client list updates related to pitch activities.
- Coordinate with the Recruiting, Communications, and Events teams to incorporate current firm highlights into pitch content.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record in preparing proposals, RFP responses, and pitch materials for high-value clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) with strong PowerPoint skills essential for designing and laying out pitch materials.
- CRM database experience (Salesforce preferred).
- Excellent writing and editing skills with an ability to translate complex legal concepts into client-friendly language.
- Strong attention to detail, with superior proofreading and fact-checking abilities.
- Strong customer service ethic and outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of working seamlessly with high level partners, marketing staff, and colleagues in other administrative departments.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt messaging to client needs and market trends.
- Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadline.
- Team player with a proactive, self-starting work ethic.
Reporting to the Pitch & Proposal team, the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a marketing or business development role within the legal industry. Bachelor's degree required.

The anticipated range for this position is:
$84,000 - $120,000Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance. Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
