Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, is seeking candidates for a Temporary Open Gym Supervisor in the Department of Health Enhancement, Exercise Science and Physical Education. The regular work schedule is 10 hours a week, Monday – Thursday, 2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., allowing for flexibility to accommodate the needs of the department. The primary responsibility of this role is to help supervise the Recreation/Fitness Program open to students, faculty and staff. This is a non-bargaining, non-exempt position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Supervise students during designated Open Gym hours.
- Enforce rules and regulations of the Open Gym program.
- Complete and maintain accurate records for the program.
- Effectively communicate and work with all faculty, staff and students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, and any combination of education, training and experience providing understanding of the field and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Fitness Certification from an NCCA accredited organization such as:
- American College of Sports Medicine
- American Council on Exercise
- The Cooper Institute
- National Academy of Sports Medicine
- National strength and Conditioning Association
- CPR/AED certification
- Experience in fitness instruction - group and/or individual
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour.
