CMU is seeking a Temporary Payroll Manager to modernize global payroll operations, enhance compliance, and mentor a high-performing team in the Finance Division. Core Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day domestic and international payroll for faculty, staff, and students.
Process Transformation: Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
Team Development: Supervise, coach, and distribute work for payroll staff while fostering a service-focused culture.
Compliance & Tax: Oversee year-end processing (W-2s), tax filings, audits, and complex pay situations (union, expat).
Collaboration: Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to lead workflow redesigns and system upgrades.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: 10–15 years in payroll with 5–7 years of supervisory experience.
Skills: Proven success in organizational change and complex payroll landscapes.
Preferred: Workday experience and CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification.
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
