Key Responsibilities (What You're Doing)
- Help execute House Beautiful's cross-platform social media strategy to grow audience, engagement, and brand awareness.
- Develop and maintain the social content calendar while supporting promotional plans tied to editorial initiatives, features, and launches.
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging social platforms while maintaining brand voice and editorial standards.
- Monitor social media performance and audience engagement, sharing insights and recommendations with the editorial team to inform future content decisions.
- Collaborate with editorial, art, commerce, and photo teams to develop compelling social-first storytelling and creative campaigns.
- Stay informed on emerging social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to identify new opportunities for audience growth.
- Support day-to-day social publishing workflows, ensuring deadlines are met and content is optimized for each platform.
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
- 1+ years of experience managing or creating social media content for a publisher, media company, brand, or similar environment.
- Strong editorial judgment with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Passion for home, design, decorating, and lifestyle content.
- Knowledge of major social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging channels.
- Experience using social analytics and publishing tools such as TrueAnthem, Parse.ly, Dash Hudson, or similar platforms.
- Highly organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker with a curiosity for social trends and audience engagement strategies.
- This position is based in our New York City office and requires working onsite.
The hourly rate for this role is $25.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
