We are seeking a detail-oriented and persistent University Outreach Specialist to support the launch of CeliacU, a platform dedicated to helping students with celiac disease navigate college dining and campus living. This role involves identifying and connecting with campus dining professionals across U.S. colleges and universities to schedule video interviews and gather critical information about gluten-free accommodations.
Primary ResponsibilitiesResearch & Contact Identification- Research and identify appropriate contacts at target universities, including:
- Campus dietitians and nutritionists
 - Dining services directors and managers
 - Student wellness coordinators
 - Disability services staff
 
 - Verify contact information and update the outreach database
 - Prioritize outreach based on university rankings and strategic importance
 
- Conduct professional phone calls to universities & specific departments
 - Send personalized email outreach using the provided templates
 - Follow up consistently on initial outreach attempts
 - Handle objections and redirect conversations to appropriate contacts
 - Maintain professional, warm communication that represents the CeliacU mission
 
- Encourage 15-20 minute video interviews with confirmed contacts (Calendly-Automated)
 - Coordinate across time zones and university schedules (System will automate)
 - Send interview confirmations and reminders (System will automate)
 - Provide interview questions in advance to participants
 - Reschedule interviews as needed and maintain calendar accuracy
 
- Maintain a detailed outreach tracker with all contact attempts in our CRM
 - Update contact information, interview status, and detailed notes
 - Track outreach metrics and conversion rates (automated)
 - Generate weekly progress reports from the template
 - Ensure data accuracy and completeness
 
- Phase 1: Contact and secure interviews with the top 100 U.S. colleges and universities
 - Phase 2: Expand outreach to the next 250 institutions (public and private)
 - Phase 3: Reach 1,000 universities by year-end
 - Initial Daily Target Metrics: 30 university contact attempts (4 per hour, 15 minutes per school, including research, call, and follow-up); will establish actual metrics in the first month
 - Weekly Target: ~150 initial contact attempts with 10% interview confirmation rate (~15 confirmed interviews per week)
 
- Excellent verbal and written English communication
 - Professional phone presence and confidence in cold calling
 - Ability to quickly build rapport with university staff
 - Strong email writing skills with attention to detail
 
- Experience with CRM systems and Google Sheets
 - Comfortable with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Meet, etc.)
 - Basic internet research skills
 - Email management and calendar coordination
 
- High persistence and resilience in outreach efforts
 - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
 - Empathy for families dealing with celiac disease
 - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
 - Professional demeanor when representing the CeliacU mission
 
- Personal experience with celiac disease or gluten allergies (highly preferred)
 - Previous experience in B2B outreach, sales, or customer service
 - Familiarity with higher education institutions
 - Understanding of dietary restrictions or food allergies
 - Experience with research and data collection
 - Virtual assistant or remote work experience
 
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (flexible hours to accommodate university time zones since colleges are in different time zones)
 - Work Type: Remote position
 - Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
