Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Telecoms Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Working as part of the engineering design and delivery team, you will support the delivery of the communications package. You will ensure designs are constructable, develop scope of works, order materials, engage with various internal and external stakeholders to complete telecommunications infrastructure delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of engineering design documents, specifications, drawings and scopes of work on time and within budget to meet project deadlines for assigned work packages.

• Understand the process relating to site design and site acquisition and relevance of Safety in Design.

• Lead and participate in the infrastructure design review process.

• Review design drawings and produce scope of work documents and BOM’s.

• Identify defects and co-ordinate rectifications as per agreed timeline.

Key knowledge and experience:

• At least 5 years’ experience as a Telecoms Engineer.

• An engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia.

• Demonstrated experience with design, construct and integration of Telecommunications systems including radio sites, power systems and associated infrastructure.

• Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

• Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
