The ideal candidate will operate independently or with minimal supervision while analyzing, planning, programming, and executing network solutions. This role requires experience across all phases of telecommunications design, including implementation, analysis, and ongoing support, as well as demonstrated leadership in managing associated technical activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recommend and support the approval of major network infrastructure installations.
- Develop and deliver project milestone reports, technical briefings, and progress updates to leadership and end-user stakeholders.
- Analyze, design, and optimize telecommunications networks supporting voice, data, video, and/or wireless communications.
- Assess communication service requirements and translate them into system specifications and network architectures.
- Define problems, develop solution approaches, and document system and network requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless network integration and performance.
- Work with functional stakeholders to develop alternative network solutions and contingency plans.
- Evaluate and estimate costs for voice and data LAN services from carriers; design access and backbone networks using carrier services; and/or manage wireless network design and performance.
- Minimum Experience: 5+ years of relevant telecommunications network engineering experience.
- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance (IT-I Critical Sensitive).
- IA Level: IAT-II.
- Certifications (Computing Environment):
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Wireless Professional (CCWP)
- or other comparable senior-level Cisco telecommunications certifications
Required Experience and Technical Competencies:
- Designing and planning telecommunications systems from the initial scope of deployment and lifecycle management.
- Network analysis and architecture development for voice networks, LAN environments, wireless communications, and/or network management systems.
- Providing technical leadership and oversight to teams engaged in network design, installation, and operations.
- Reviewing technical work products to ensure accuracy, compliance with architectural standards, and schedule alignment.
