Job Summary:

The Red Hat Consulting Department is looking for a Telco Consultant to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to customers on the adoption of Red Hat's cloud solutions and product families. You will build solid relationships with senior members of Red Hat’s customer’s infrastructure, networking, and operations teams by helping them architect modern, agile, and flexible infrastructure. Additionally, you will be seen as a trusted advisor to enterprise and domain architects and form relationships with senior IT and business leaders. We’ll need you to have a combination of experience in pre sales customer discovery session facilitation, post-sales detailed design workshops, and implementation governance.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver discovery and design workshops that will help shape customer journeys and adoption of our solutions in the telecommunications industry. 

  • Design and scope delivery projects and lead consulting teams through successful customer pilot and production deployments Design, create, and deliver content that will enable us to sell, service, and support our NFV solutions at scale 

  • Work closely with Red Hat presales, Customer Success (Support), and Sales teams to ensure an excellent customer experience. Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risks. 

  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the telco community by producing outstanding whitepapers, webinars, etc.; and speaking at industry-leading conferences. 

  • Collaborate closely with regional and global telco services teams, sharing ideas and best practices while providing guidance and assistance to your peers.

Required Skills:

  • Experience designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technological field

  • 5+ years of experience in a solutions architect, enterprise architect, or a consultant role related to the delivery of infrastructure solutions 

  • 5+ years of experience focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures 

  • Proven experience in generating opportunities through interactions with customers - Solid operational and management experience with hybrid platforms 

  • Background in customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization, or within a services division of a major software company

  • Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives and/or stakeholders. 

  • Broad and deep experience across the following technologies: Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Ansible 

  • Working knowledge of cloud architectures and their supporting infrastructures 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to senior business and technology leaders

  • Proven ability to work seamlessly with teams spread out across multiple departments and geographies 

  • Balance of strategic and tactical skills with a capacity for innovative thinking 

  • Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation 

  • Willingness to travel 

  • Good English language skills

  • Broad industry experience across multiple verticals and within the telecommunications vertical is a plus
