Job Description

Position Overview

As a Analyst II, IT Business Administration you are responsible for ensuring the procurement of technology solutions are optimized through assessment of capabilities, risk, and pricing. You will manage a portfolio of vendors and communicate with the business to compare vendor capabilities and business requirements. As such, the Analyst II, IT Business Administration needs to have significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to IT and vendor management and must have a thorough understanding of the business to identify its needs and envision business solutions. The Analyst II, IT Business Administration is responsible for building effective sourcing processes. This role reports to the Vice President, IT Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends and market conditions for present and future pricing, availability, lead time, and capacity of goods and services.
  • Comply with all purchasing policies and procedures, including those for equipment, hardware, software, and service provision, in conjunction with department leads and department-specific requirements.
  • Interview, identify, and qualify potential new vendors or suppliers to secure more cost-effective sources of products and services.
  • Develop and deliver purchasing and inventory reports, bid proposals, requirements documentation, and tender documents.
  • Define purchasing recommendations that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent sourcing activities.
  • Effectively communicate procurement strategies to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Where necessary, develop and implement plans to auction, recycle, or otherwise sell obsolete inventory and equipment.
  • Where necessary, coordinate delivery, installation, and storage of office equipment, furniture, and other collateral.
  • Where possible, standardize equipment to lower total costs.

Competencies

    • Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services.
    • Superb budgeting, inventory, and cost-management skills.
    • Works well both alone or in a team setting.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills, position-appropriate mentoring/leadership abilities, ability to quickly master new systems and/or processes, capacity to stay organized while managing competing priorities, and a deep customer service orientation, both internally and externally.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Information Technology or a related discipline.
    • 3+ years direct work experience in sourcing procurement capacity.
    • Strong knowledge of purchasing regulations and laws.
    • Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies across a wide variety of areas.
    • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
