About you and this role
We are looking for a Technology Manager!
The Technology Manager will be expected to support the implementation of the Ethylene Oxide/Ethylene Glycol (EO/EG) Technology Licensing efforts and the EO Catalyst business strategy, which will include closely working with the EO/EG Licensing Technology Center, EO Catalyst Manufacturing, Research & Development, and other stakeholders to sell technology licenses and catalysts to drive sustainable earnings growth.
The specific focus region is Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI). In addition, the Technology Manager will be supporting existing EO/EG Licensees and EO Catalyst customers in the region and serving as a resource and liaison to the supporting functions to achieve the business targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and negotiate Catalyst Supply Proposals and Catalyst Supply Agreements for external EO Catalyst customers in partnership with commercial team.
- Lead and/or participate in EO Catalyst changeouts and plant start-ups at customer sites.
- Track catalyst performance and data from EO catalyst customers.
- Provide technical support to EOEG process licensees and EO catalyst customers.
- Generate performance projections, analyze, and interpret plant performance data.
- Develop and present training to EOEG process licensees and EO catalyst customers.
- Provide feedback from learnings to clients and to the EO/EG Licensing and Technology Center teams,
- Gather information on improvements and develop/deliver improvements presentations to licensees.
- Improve and own/utilize EO Catalyst Customer Value Model for economic evaluation of prospective customers.
- Interact with EO Technology Intellectual Capital Management Team (ICMT) and the EOEG Technology Leadership Group (TLG) and other key stakeholders
- Track industry data/trends and develop and maintain efficient tools to assess, manage, and communicate the data.
- Lead or assist in development of enhanced performance management tools to improve overall performance and reduce performance analysis time.
- Participate in EO Catalyst supply planning meetings and long-range forecast discussions.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related science discipline.
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in EO/EG related chemical plant operations
- Good communication skills in English (both oral and written)
- Ability to work non-traditional hours across different cultures/time zones due to global nature of the role.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including internationally within Europe, Asia, Middle East region, and India.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with Intellectual Property protection concepts and licensing terminology
- Experience in negotiating complex technical and/or commercial agreements.
- Experience in licensing & catalyst commercial or technical roles, business development, product/asset management, marketing, 3rd party/JV services
- Experience in external manufacturing.
