The Role
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director for Cloud Engineering.
The Technology Director, Cloud Engineering is responsible for defining and executing the organization's cloud strategy while leading cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, and automation initiatives. This role drives the design and operation of secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud platforms that enable application teams to deliver business value rapidly and safely. The position typically partners with Architecture, Security, Product Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineering managers, engineering leads, and cloud engineers
  • Define and execute the cloud engineering strategy, aligning priorities with enterprise and business objectives
  • Deliver enterprise cloud services across AWS, Azure, and GCP that enable data, analytics, modeling, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Drive key technology decisions in partnership with Architecture, Security, and Risk teams to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions
  • Champion engineering excellence through modern software development practices, automation, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the security, availability, performance, resilience, and scalability of cloud platforms and services
  • Lead global Agile software development teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and business expectations
  • Establish strong partnerships with technology, security, observability, and risk stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and operational outcomes
  • Manage technology investments, resource allocation, and cloud financial governance to maximize business value
  • Build and execute talent strategies that attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent while fostering a culture of growth and accountability
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 8+ years of direct cloud engineering experience across multiple cloud providers
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 4+ years managing cloud engineering teams
Desired Qualifications:
  • 4+ years leading Cloud Data and Analytics and Delivery of key capabilities in large scale enterprises
  • 8+ years of direct cyber security experience in the areas of access management, cloud policy, data encryption, network security, threat identification and management, and data loss prevention to include AI prompt protection with such capabilities as Model Armor
  • Technology Infrastructure leadership and change management experience in large banks or equivalent large scale, highly regulated companies
  • Deep expertise with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience leading platform engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or infrastructure organizations
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security, networking, automation, observability, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience managing large-scale cloud migrations and modernization programs
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar DevOps toolsets
  • Experience implementing FinOps practices and cloud governance frameworks

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
