Job Description Summary
The IT Director of Financial Systems is a senior technology leader responsible for the strategy, delivery, and ongoing optimization of enterprise financial platforms. This role will lead critical finance technology domains including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Revenue Management, and Billing, ensuring scalable, efficient, and compliant financial operations.This position serves as a trusted advisor to Finance leadership and collaborates closely with cross-functional business and technology teams to drive alignment, innovation, and transformation across the organization.
Job Description
This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
Serve as a strategic technology partner and trusted advisor to Finance executive leadership, enabling business outcomes through modern financial systems.
Translate Finance strategy and operational needs into scalable, secure, and cost‑effective technology solutions.
Provide thought leadership on finance digitization, AI use cases, automation, and platform modernization.
Enterprise Financial Systems Leadership
Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle management for all Raymond James corporate finance system including:
General Ledger and Accounts Payables
Revenue Management and Billing
Consolidations and Close
Budgeting, Planning, and Forecasting
Contracts and Procurement
Ensure platform stability, performance, controls, and scalability.
Transformation & Program Delivery
Oversee large, multi‑year finance transformation programs
Drive simplification and standardization of finance processes and data across platforms.
Ensure strong governance, delivery discipline, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
AI & Automation Enablement
Champion the use of AI and intelligent automation to streamline Finance and IT processes, improve insights, and reduce manual effort.
Identify opportunities to leverage GenAI, machine learning, workflow automation, and analytics across financial systems.
Partner with Finance and IT teams to pilot and scale AI‑enabled capabilities responsibly.
Team & Talent Development
Build, lead, and develop high‑performing financial systems teams with strong functional and technical expertise.
Establish clear operating models encompassing internal teams, managed service providers, and system integrators.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Manage strategic vendor relationships, including software providers, system integrators, and managed service partners.
Own vendor performance, contract management, and cost optimization.
Ensure effective coordination across vendors and internal teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Risk, Controls & Operational Excellence
Ensure systems meet internal control, audit, and compliance requirements.
Oversee system resiliency, data quality, security, and access controls.
Drive operational excellence through strong KPIs, SLAs, and continuous service improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
10+ years of progressive experience in Financial Systems, ERP/EPM leadership, or enterprise technology roles.
Strong hands‑on and leadership experience moving to and supporting cloud EPM and ERP platforms,.
Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior Finance and business leaders.
Strong vendor management and systems integrator leadership experience.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting OneStream or other cloud EPM solutions or Cloud Finance ERP solutions.
Experience with Oracle Financial platforms, including:
PeopleSoft
Revenue Management and Billing (RMB)
Financial Accounting Hub (FAH)
Familiarity with AI‑enabled finance tools, analytics platforms, or intelligent automation technologies.
Strong understanding of finance data models, integrations, and reporting architectures.
