Rockwell Automation is hiring!

We are looking for a Technology Consultant (Power) to join us in Perth, Western Australia.

Reporting to the Manager, Intelligent Devices, you are a technical resource for our technology and products within Intelligent Devices, working with customers to help design and implement solutions to bring their projects, production and machines online.

You are responsible for the technical support for proof of concept, support and is a trusted advisor to our customers and channel. You will enhance Distributor Specialist capability in areas lacking coverage., You will support commercial marketing activities, interface with Product Business, be the contact for product and quality issues, provide post sales troubleshooting when needed, and act as a local interface with Tech Support.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer engineering and production teams to design and implement RA electrical power solutions
  • Work with customers to provide specifications for RA electrical power solutions
  • Be the technical product expert and focal point in Western Australia for electrical power solutions
  • Facilitate and provide product-based training to the sales team & channel.
  • Define and explain product differentiators and values versus competition.
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars and similar marketing activities, offering demonstrations and product expertise with customers where needed
  • Support market access (Distributor and Systems Integrators) to ensure their capability in promoting the value and demonstration of RA product or technologies
  • Assist Business Lead in launch of new products to the sales team and channel.
  • Validate and resolve compatibility issues of products within architectural solutions and provide guidance to customers/sales team.
  • Seek out and participate in training opportunities to develop technical skills.
  • Update customers on new products and technology as related to customer’s industry and application needs as a resource to the named account team.
  • Provide product gap and development feedback to appropriate team.
  • Understand business models, organization and go-to-market strategy, leverage
  • Knowledge of the industry strategies, familiarity with outcome-based selling.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical related field or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' relevant experience
  • Experienced in solution and application knowledge
  • Knowledge of Mining industry

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Technical knowledge of Variable Speed Drives, Motor Control Center and Switchboard solutions
