Job Description
The Power Technology Consultant is a technical sales resource for Rockwell Automation. You will articulate and present the capabilities and benefits of the Rockwell Automation portfolio within your area(s) of expertise to customers. You provide pre-sales support for a specific range of products within a defined geography, considered to be a technical product expert and are a trusted advisor to the sales organization and channel. You will augment Distributor Specialist capability in areas lacking coverage. You will support commercial marketing activities, interface with Product Departments, be the contact for product and quality issues, provide post sales troubleshooting when needed, and act as a local interface with Tech Support.
You will work in a hybrid format from our Portland, Oregon office and report to the Technology Consultant Manager, Intelligent Device / Power.
What You Will Do:
- Be the technical product expert and focal point in the region/country for Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Drives, Allen-Bradley Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Motor Control Centers, and related products in the Allen-Bradley portfolio of Power products.
- Facilitate and provide product-based training to the sales team & channel partners.
- Co-operate with the sales force in promoting the product range to existing and new customers with presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, performance tests and similar activities.
- Define and promote product differentiators and values versus competition.
- Analyze competitive product lines, have knowledge of competitor's strategy, further define competitive differentiators.
- Participate in trade shows, seminars or similar marketing activities, offering demonstrations and product expertise with customers where needed
- Support market access (Distributor & Systems Integrators) to ensure their capability in promoting the value and demonstration of RA product or technologies
- Assist Business Lead in launch of new products to the sales team and channel partners.
- Validate and resolve compatibility issues of products within architectural solutions and provide guidance to customers/sales team.
- Update customers on new products and technology as related to customer's industry and application needs as a resource to the named account team.
- Provide product gap and development feedback to appropriate business unit.
- Interface with Tech Support on post sales product issues.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel 50% of time or more.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- 5+ years of software industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, industrial distribution, manufacturing operations, systems integration, or an engineering firm
- Experience working with all levels of an industrial automation plant (customer) including VPs, plant engineers and OEM machine builders.
- Demonstrated ability to sell at the senior management & executive levels and convey Rockwell Automation's products & services in a manner which demonstrate tangible economic value.

For this role, the Total Target Compensation is from $135,280 - $202,920 of which 80% is base salary and 20% is variable. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
