Provides IT helpdesk and desktop support for users, including troubleshooting computers, touch screens, printers, and related hardware and software. Sets up and distributes PCs, performs preventative maintenance, ensures software and logins function properly, contacts vendors, documents activities, and helps resolve system issues. The role also requires strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and familiarity with networking, business systems, Windows, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and AutoCAD.

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responds to customer (user) calls concerning personal computers, touch screens, printers, etc.
  • Sets up new personal computers.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on personal computers.
  • Distributes new personal computers to users, ensuring all appropriate software and logins are functional.
  • Contacts vendors for support and resolution of issues.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.
  • Participates in resolution of computer system problems (hardware or software) as the need arises.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Participates in department meetings.
  • Completes documentation of activities as required.
  • Submits cost reduction and innovation ideas.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Preferred:  Two years applied experience related to essential functions.  
  • Required:  Hardware experience encompassing networking; Ethernet and LAN, PCs, plotters and printers (laser & thermal). 
  • Software – Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, Autocad.
  • Must have good problem solving skills. Must have good math skills.  
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must work well with others.  Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and have a high tolerance for stressful situations.
  • Must have strong understanding of business systems.
  • Required:  A.S. degree or technical degree with related experience
  • Preferred: B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, MIS or equivalent
