Role Objective:
To develop, manage, and maintain high-quality technical documentation and multimedia content that effectively communicates complex information in a clear, concise, and user-friendly manner. The Technical Writer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and engaging content that supports training, operations, and product understanding.
Responsibilities:
- Write, publish and maintain high-quality content e.g. documents/manuals, presentations, help center and print publishing content. This includes written documents, help center articles, videos and graphical content (diagrams, flow charts, and logos)
- Manage creation, production, publishing and proof-reading of documents or training content
- Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders for in-depth understanding of the documentation requirements
- Thoroughly understand all policies and tools used within the process and translate the requirements clearly into a workflow document/site/presentation
- Create engaging content with use of infographic, flow-charts & gif or videos for ease of understanding
- Participate and contribute to documentation development activities from estimation, planning, scheduling through publishing stages
- Improve the depth and quality of the documentation based on feedback from internal and external customers
- Translate complex product information into simple and easy to understand formats
- Research, organize and write effective instructional text and scripts for audio/video clips
- Keep the supervisor apprised of status and escalate any issues in a proactive manner that affects timeliness or scope of the assigned work
- Identify user needs, use cases and metrics to focus priorities
- Audit existing documentation against current processes and make revisions appropriately
Key skills:
- Experience in technical writing and documentation
- Basic understanding of HTML
- High school or equivalent
- Must have exposure to content creation & authoring tools e.g. MS suite, Google suite, Captivate etc.
- Tech savvy and should be abreast with industry trends/best practices pertaining to content management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with Global teams across all levels of the business.
- Comfortable with a rapidly-changing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem solving
Skills Required
