Technical Writer

We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to support the SNAP Administration and Oversight Support (AOS) program in Washington, DC. The Technical Writer will work closely with analysts and functional experts to develop, edit, and proofread a variety of documents, ensuring they meet USDA guidelines and Section 508 compliance standards.Key Responsibilities

• Content Development: Write, edit, and proofread project documents, including technical reports, training materials, and policy guidance.
• Collaboration: Work with analysts and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and accessible documentation.
• Compliance: Ensure all materials meet established content standards, including USDA and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Formatting and Style: Apply U.S. Government Printing Office Style Manual and USDA style guidelines to deliverables.
• Technical Communication: Adapt complex technical information for diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in technical writing or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with analysts and functional experts.
• Exceptional written communication and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in implementing Section 508 compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with SNAP policies and program requirements is a plus.
