Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Manager of Technical Support, the Technical Writer will craft clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for our OEMs, Heritage and New Products. Your primary objective will be to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences, including end-users, engineers, and project managers. You will work closely with product teams, developers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure that your documentation aligns with user needs and industry standards. Your writing will play a vital role in the user experience, enabling users to fully leverage our products and reducing the need for customer support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create user manuals, guides, and help documents for our OEMs, Heritage and New Products.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to gather technical information
- Review and edit documentation for clarity, grammar, and accuracy
- Maintain a consistent documentation style and format across all materials
- Research to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into easy-to-understand language
- Update existing documentation based on product updates or user feedback
- Develop and maintain content for online help systems and FAQs
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Education and Experience:
- 4-year degree in technical writing, engineering, computer science, or a related field with 2+ years related experience or Associates degree or Certification in technical writing, engineering, computer science, or a related field with 5+ years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Mechanical, electrical, and software knowledge or experience is a plus.
Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities):
- Proven experience as a technical writer or in a similar role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in authoring tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD models, Sangit editor, MS Paint, and MS Office).
- Knowledge of technical writing standards and best practices.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of content management systems (Teamcenter, SAP, or Salesforce).
- Strong Technical Expertise.
- Strong Editing and Proofreading skills.

- Work is performed in a controlled office and manufacturing environment; noise is within acceptable safety levels; work is sometimes performed in cramped areas; paper dust is prevalent; cleaners and solvents are used to clean machines.

- Moderate (up to 20 days) travel may be required
