Job Description

As a Technical Writer at QAD, you will plan, write, research and publish new and updated user documentation, including online help, user guides, technical and reference guides, release notes and web pages.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create, develop, plan, write, and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication
  • Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation
  • Research and translate technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for non-technical and technical users.
  • Produce documentation that conforms to quality assurance standards

Qualifications

  • Preferably (2~4) years work experience in English (US) language technical writing/communications, and/or API/Developer documentation. Experience in peer reviewing/editing is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and/or customer service communication skills. Experience working with global/remote teams is a plus.

  • Advanced skills in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive) Google Docs, Slides, Forms, Sheets, and Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence).

  • Advanced-level knowledge of Oxygen Editor, ePublisher, Adobe FrameMaker, and MadCap Flare.

  • Experience or knowledgable using a CCMS (Cloud/SaaS and OnPrem) and CDP (SaaS).

  • Experience with Google AutoML and/or other AI tools is a plus.

  • Strong desire to learn, develop and grow with the organization by helping improve current standards and/or processes. 

  • University level degree in English, technical communication, or related subject.
