AiB is looking for a technically adept and passionate Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will immerse yourself in blockchain development, working closely with our core product developers from the Engineering team as well as with other teams such as Growth or Developer Experience (DevX). Your mission is to make blockchain technology accessible and understandable, especially for those new to this exciting field. Your unique background as a developer, coupled with your experience in creating and leading content across various platforms, including blogs, websites, GitHub, or other dedicated channels, position you perfectly to produce high-quality documentation and guides. A significant part of this role involves content creation that merges development knowledge with instructional writing, requiring a candidate who is as passionate about writing as they are skilled in coding.

Responsibilities

  • Crafting in-depth content: Your responsibility will involve translating products’ technical specifications into clear, concise, and compelling content. This will include creating in-depth written blog posts or descriptions covering the product's roadmap, features, usability, and use cases aiming to fulfill content requirements across various platforms, including blogs, websites, GitHub, or other dedicated channels. This involves collaborating closely with product development teams to grasp the essence and functionality of the products, including insights into its upcoming features and product roadmap. Concurrently, conducting research and utilizing your technical proficiency will enable you to showcase product’s use cases and applicability.
  • Create Comprehensive Tutorials and Documentation: Lead the charge in developing intricate yet accessible guides, tutorials, and documentation, translating the complexities of blockchain into clear, engaging educational materials. Collaborate closely with internal teams and the open-source community to continuously enhance these resources, ensuring accuracy, user-friendliness, and a smooth learning curve.
  • Technical Facilitation: Actively participate in technical meetings, thoroughly comprehend discussions, and contribute valuable insights based on your technical expertise and background. Translate code into easy-to-understand content, able to speak about our technology and the products that we are building.
  • Support Developer Relations: Engage with the community on GitHub by asking pertinent questions, reading code, and providing technical support, demonstrating your commitment to development and educational advocacy.

Basic Requirements

  • Extensive Experience: With at least 6 years of combined experience in technical writing and software development, you have a track record of captivating and educating developer audiences.
  • Technical Expertise: Your expertise in the Go programming language is evident, enhanced by a comprehensive understanding of Git and GitHub.
  • Passion for Advocacy: You are deeply committed to supporting developer success, particularly for those new to blockchain, driven by an enthusiasm for teaching and tackling complex issues.
  • Open Source Contributions: Experience contributing to open-source projects is highly valued.
  • Master in English language proficiency to compose articulate, elegant and refined written communication, characterized by clarity and precision, thus ensuring the absence of ambiguity in expression.

Nice-To-Haves

  • Blockchain Ecosystem Knowledge: Prior experience with Tendermint, Cosmos SDK, or a general grasp of blockchain ecosystems will be considered a plus.
  • Boost Community Engagement: Engage deeply with the developer community, identifying their needs, addressing adoption challenges, and fostering an environment ripe for innovation and education.
  • Technical Diversity and Academic Background: Though not mandatory, exposure to diverse software development areas and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields will be beneficial.
  • Possession of a discerning sense of wit and humor This attribute not only adds a touch of levity to the writing process but also enhances the ability to engage readers and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity and relatability.
