The Role
We’re looking for a self-starting, detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our documentation team. We create documentation that supports system administrators, implementers, and business users as they use SailPoint’s suite of products to discover, secure, and manage their identities. The scope of our documentation includes initial setup, system configuration, and day-to-day operations. We also contribute to overall product usability by developing and editing clear and succinct in-app microcopy.To excel, the position requires a person:

Responsibilities
Coordination: Work closely with fellow Technical Writers, Engineers, and Project Managers to scope and complete tasks to meet delivery deadlines.
Content Creation: Create and update user-friendly SaaS documentation, in-app microcopy, and release notes.
Quality Assurance: Review documentation in line with the user interface to confirm accuracy, user workflow, and understanding of the instructions.
Quality Assurance: Check documents for clear grammar, style guide consistency, and accuracy.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other writers to edit shared content and integrate new content seamlessly.
The Path to Success (Milestones)
1-Month Milestones — The “Learning” Phase:
Onboard in your new role and get familiar with our products, tooling, and processes.
Get to know your team and proactively start building positive relationships with stakeholders.
Complete small writing tasks and peer reviews to understand and apply Connectivity documentation processes and standards.
Prioritize your work to meet the dynamic timelines of product documentation written for continuous deployment.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate the documentation creation and publishing process.
3-Month Milestones — The “Contribution” Phase:
Coordinate with engineering and PM teams on assignments, ask clarifying questions, and manage workload to meet scheduled delivery dates.
Begin to understand your assigned connectors.
Collaborate closely with other writers to edit shared content and integrate new content for cross-functional projects.
Understand the business goals and how documentation requirements align with and contribute to these goals.
6-Month Milestones — The “Performance” Phase:
Be comfortable in your role and with day-to-day workload management.
Document products and feature sets with diligence.
Identify the information needs of a target audience, then organize and develop technical documentation that addresses those needs.
1-Year Milestone — Work Independently:
Work independently on tasks and projects.
Collaborate effectively with team members.
Engage in a strong commitment to quality and iterative learning, adapting quickly to Agile methodologies and changing timelines.
Proactively dig for answers, research, and experiment with unfamiliar subject matter to deliver accurate documentation.
Thrive in a dynamic, continuous delivery environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, UX, and QA.
Education & Qualifications
Must Haves:
Experience: 2+ years of professional writing experience.
Education: Degree in English, Technical Writing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Audience Focus: Experience writing content for both technical audiences, such as IT administrators, and non-technical audiences.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to research and experiment with unfamiliar subject matter.
Nice to Haves:
SaaS Experience: Professional writing experience specifically on a SaaS product.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with HTML/CSS for online delivery, content strategy, SEO, and information architecture.
Domain Knowledge: Understanding of identity management, governance, and compliance.
Methodologies: Comfort following Agile methodologies and using issue tracking tools.
Knowledge or experience of Markdown, Cursor, GitHub, and JIRA.
Travel & Logistics
Travel: Expected travel is minimal, typically 0–10% as needed.
Logistics: Pune, hybrid.
