Position Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Writer with experience in the Smart Grid and IoT domain for a one-year contract engagement. Candidates with prior Business Analyst experience are highly preferred, as the role involves preparing user-facing documentation, functional documentation, and product manuals for grid monitoring applications.
The resource will support documentation activities for our Smart Grid platform, including the existing Meta Alert application and upcoming enhancements. The role requires close collaboration with product owners, engineering teams, and domain experts to translate business and technical requirements into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain user manuals, administrator guides, deployment guides, and technical documentation for Smart Grid and IoT applications.
• Create user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, developer guides, troubleshooting manuals, and knowledge base articles.
• Understanding of sensor-based monitoring solutions, preferably involving MSU and CAU sensors.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, QA, and support teams to gather technical information.
• Document IoT architectures, device workflows, connectivity protocols, and deployment processes.
• Produce documentation for embedded systems, edge devices, cloud integrations, and device management platforms.
• Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
• Maintain version control and documentation repositories.
• Participate in product releases and ensure all associated documentation is updated accordingly.
• Support customer onboarding by developing training materials, FAQs, and best practice guides.
• Continuously improve documentation processes and tools.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 1-4 years of experience in Technical Writing, Business Analysis, or a similar role.
• Experience in Smart Grid, Energy Management, Industrial IoT, or Electrical Monitoring domains.
• Understanding of sensor-based monitoring solutions, preferably involving MSU and CAU sensors.
• Experience documenting applications, dashboards, alerts, workflows, and monitoring systems.
• Strong skills in preparing user manuals, product guides, training materials, and functional documentation.
• Familiarity with requirement documentation, use cases, business process mapping, and stakeholder interactions.
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience as a Business Analyst is highly preferred.
• Exposure to Smart Grid technologies, energy analytics, and remote asset monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, OPC-UA, REST APIs, and cloud-based IoT platforms.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
