Everforth ECS Federal is seeking a Senior Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist to support a mission-focused federal IT program in Washington DC.

The Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist will develop and maintain technical, operational, change/configuration, and audit-ready documentation for federal IT systems. This role works closely with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, service delivery teams, and program leadership to ensure documentation is accurate, usable, current, and aligned with program and customer requirements.
The Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist will write and maintain standard operating procedures, system diagrams, user guides, CMDB and CCB artifacts, release notes, knowledge articles, compliance documentation, and other program materials. This position will support version control, documentation governance, audit readiness, change management activities, and recurring updates to ensure program documentation remains organized, consistent, and mission-ready.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with experience documenting technical environments, translating complex information into clear and usable materials, maintaining documentation discipline, and collaborating with technical and program teams in a secure federal IT environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong writing skills, attention to detail, customer awareness, and the ability to support documentation needs across classified or sensitive mission systems.
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum 7 years network engineering experience
- Secure network operations experience
- Experience with enterprise routing, switching, and network security.
