In support of a challenging, critical, and rewarding program that provides integrated voice, video, and data services throughout the Information Technology lifecycle, Amentum is seeking a Tech Writer - Senior to join our dynamic team of IT professionals dedicated to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. You must be a critical thinker, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work independently or as a member of a team in a dynamic environment. We value candidates who are detail-oriented while also being able to think and react quickly to emerging and unique problem sets. To be successful, you must be able to rapidly adapt and learn how to operate the front and back end of new products and processes.

Work Schedule:
•    5 Days (Mon – Fri); 8 hrs/Day; 40 hrs/wkly
•    Ability to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last-minute requests for overtime if needed. 

Essential Responsibilities: 
•    Write and maintain user guides, operational manuals, reports, presentations, and training materials that explain complex system processes.
•    Read and interpret engineering drawings, maintenance files, and procedures to combine large amounts of technical data into clear instructions.
•    Guide documents from draft to final version, ensuring they are accurate, consistent, properly formatted, and carry the correct government security markings.
•    Work closely with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to clearly capture system features, workflows, and requirements.
•    Edit drafts for grammar, clarity, and formatting before submitting them to program management for final approval.
•    Review and refine step-by-step guides for standard IT workflows to ensure they are easy to follow.
•    Help team members write and organize system accreditation and compliance documents when needed.
•    Manage the team’s internal document repository and suggest ways to make finding and storing information easier.
•    Keep the project’s tracking spreadsheet updated so the team always knows the current status of contract deliverables

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
•    Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI  
•    Must have at least 4 years of relevant experience
•    Proven track record of working within classified environments and a strong command of Derivative Classification principles.
•    Candidate must possess hands-on experience applying appropriate classification markings—including portion markings, banner lines, and classification authority blocks—in accordance with Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
•    Multifaceted writing background with demonstrated experience translating complex concepts across three distinct pillars: IT systems, and governance/policy.
•    Familiarity with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project, and Visio.    
•    Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong critical thinking, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.      
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Security Clearance Required: 
Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI
 

Minimum Education: 
Associates or bachelor’s degree in IT related field
 

Minimum Years of Experience: 
4 years of relevant experience
