Overview:

SOFTSWISS is looking for a Middle Technical Writer to join the 1C Team. 1C is our internal system for managing corporate processes and financial reporting.

In this role, you'll create user guides, procedures, and release notes for employees who work with 1C. You will manage the 1C product documentation independently and grow your skills with support from the team.

Purpose of the role:

As the dedicated writer on this team, you'll:

  • Keep 1C documentation clear, accurate, and easy to find. Employees can get answers without asking around.

  • Set the standard for technical communication quality across the teams that rely on 1C.

  • Partner with product, development, and QA teams to turn complex information into plain, usable guidance.

Key responsibilities:
  • Write, edit, and maintain user guides, procedures, how-to articles, and tutorials.

  • Write release notes from information you gather directly from product owners and technical specialists.

  • Gather and check information with product owners, business analysts, developers, QA engineers, and other specialists.

  • Review documentation for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Identify gaps in documentation standards and workflows, and propose improvements.

Required Experience:
  • English at C1 level or higher.

  • Russian at B2 level or higher.

  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing.

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Experience writing user guides in both conceptual and task-based styles, for different audiences.

  • Experience writing release notes.

  • Experience managing and maintaining content in Confluence.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Style Guide or Google Developer Documentation Style Guide.

  • Experience using AI tools as part of a daily writing workflow to optimize writing.

  • Experience with Git and a docs-as-code workflow, including working in tools like Docusaurus.

  • Experience using Visual Studio Code, Cursor, or a similar code editor.

  • Able to plan and manage work independently, without close supervision.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and time-management skills.

Nice to have:
  • Experience in fintech or iGaming.

  • Familiarity with 1C or similar business applications.

  • Experience writing API documentation.

  • A portfolio that includes user guides and release notes.

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in English (C1 or higher)
