This position requires office presence.

Shift schedule: 5x8 Day shift; Mon-Fri; 06:00-14:30 local time.

Shift assignments are part of the 24/7/365 coverage requirements.

AT&T is seeking a mid-level Technical Writer to support mission‑critical IT services for Intelligence Sector customers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• The Technical Writer is responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining a wide range of technical documentation, including user manuals, how-to guides, reference materials, programming and service manuals, operational specifications, and other technical publications.
• This role ensures that complex scientific and technical concepts are translated into clear, concise, and user-friendly language suitable for diverse audiences.
• Working closely with customers and technical teams, the Technical Writer gathers and analyzes information to translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• This includes acquiring subject matter knowledge through interviews with product developers and technical staff, observation of production processes, and review of technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
• The Technical Writer then synthesizes this information into accurate and accessible documentation for both print and electronic formats, including training materials, government proposals, websites, and other media.
• The role also involves overseeing the development of illustrative content, selecting or recommending appropriate visuals such as diagrams, charts, graphics, and storyboards to enhance clarity and usability.
• The Technical Writer conducts thorough quality reviews of all materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards.
• In addition, the Technical Writer supports knowledge management by developing cataloging systems and maintaining records, files, and archives of published materials.
• They may assist in preparing content for technical seminars, business forums, and presentations, and contribute to communication efforts as needed to support customer and organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• The Technical Writer demonstrates a proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise, and accurate content, supported by excellent writing and grammar skills.
• This role requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a technical or lead writing capacity, including developing developer-focused documentation and collaborating directly with software development teams.
• The individual is experienced in using a variety of tools to create templates and manage output styles, ensuring consistency and usability across deliverables, while meeting tight deadlines and working independently.
• The Technical Writer possesses a strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), IC ITE, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and other relevant technical concepts outlined in the PWS.
• Recognized as an emerging authority, the individual applies broad technical knowledge and expertise to develop solutions for complex documentation challenges, operating under general direction with considerable autonomy in setting objectives and determining approaches.
• This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 6–10 years of relevant experience, with additional experience or advanced education considered in lieu of formal degree requirements.

Highly Desired IAT II certifications: Security+, CySA+, CISSP, etc.

Our Technical Writer Mid's earn between $79,300 - $123,900. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
