Position Overview:
Aptos is looking for creative and passionate people to join the Technical Writing team to develop and maintain customer-facing content that serves a growing community of retailers, partners and developers.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Write product documentation targeted towards end users, including new feature overviews, configuration instructions and user guides
- Research and assemble information about how to use our software into comprehensive and concise topics
- Work with product engineering teams to learn about new product features, ensure technical accuracy in your writing.
- Define documentation requirements for new topics through collaboration with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Architects
- Understand the delivery schedule and ensure the relevant product documentation is completed and ready for publishing by the release date.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of technical writing experience
- Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or Journalism
- Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience producing software documentation
- Ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matters
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to clearly explain complex technologies or processes to a target audience.
- Learn and apply complex technologies and concepts quickly
- Skill with interviewing subject matter experts to understand and document complex technologies and systems
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- Experience in retail order management and omnichannel workflows
- Prior experience in business analysis
- Previous experience working in an agile software development environment
- Experience with Atlassian tools, Confluence and Jira
- Familiarity with MadCap Flare and authoring in HTML and XML
- Knowledge of Bitbucket and Git
- Familiarity with VMWare or other virtual environments for testing and validation
