Technical Writer III
Location: Remote
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer III to develop, edit, and maintain technical and administrative documentation that supports operational processes, equipment, systems, and organizational procedures. This role requires the ability to gather information from technical subject matter experts and translate complex concepts into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, edit, and maintain technical manuals, reports, procedures, guides, proposals, and instructional materials.
- Collaborate with engineers, technical professionals, and operational teams to gather and verify information.
- Research technical specifications, drawings, diagrams, schematics, and related documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Observe operational and production activities to document procedures, workflows, and best practices.
- Review and revise existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability.
- Organize content according to established standards for format, style, terminology, and quality.
- Create or coordinate visual content such as charts, diagrams, illustrations, and screenshots to support documentation.
- Maintain document revisions, version control, and publication records.
- Edit and standardize materials prepared by other contributors.
- Support the development of internal communications, training materials, and process documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years technical writing experience
- Active Security Clearance required
- Experience developing technical, operational, or procedural documentation.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and research skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Experience working with technical drawings, specifications, schematics, or engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, government, or technical operations environments.
- Familiarity with equipment operation, maintenance, or technical procedures.
- Experience developing training materials, user guides, or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
