Job Description

Reporting into the VP of Product Operations, your primary focus will be to plan, create, and maintain a variety of internal and client facing documentation. This includes API, training, troubleshooting documentation and feature guides. As a Technical Writer, you will create and edit documentation, user manuals, and other technical content to convert technical information to a non-technical language. You will conduct research, evaluate and edit your work, and develop methods for improvement to ensure effective communication across the team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain the knowledge base, manuals, training, and support documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a system with the product and development teams to deliver documentation before new feature releases in Confluence, ensuring timely delivery of feature guides and supporting documentation as part of our go to market strategy.
  • Analyze information required for developing or updating policy, procedure, and form documentation.
  • Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by non-technical personnel.
  • Work with product teams to deliver support documentation and feature guides as part of the product development life-cycle.
  • Ensure timely delivery of content to support our go to market activities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other content owners (Product, Product marketing, and Support teams)
  • Standardize content across platforms and media.
  • Write, review, and maintain API documentation for API users, such as API reference docs and developer guides in Stoplight.
  • Work with Product Operations to ensure standardisation of our tooling and approach to consistent documentation process for all of our global teams
  • Continually evaluate and seek feedback on our documentation

Qualifications

What would make me a good candidate?

  • Proven working experience in technical writing of complex documentation.
  • Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger, Stoplight and knowledge of REST APIs is a must.
  • Advanced skills in Markdown, JSON and YAML for REST API documentation.
  • Have experience with creating and maintaining Release notes for feature releases.
  • Ability to translate technical language into simple and concise English appropriate for the target audience.
  • Advanced skills in using Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office suite.
  • Experience in content strategy and information architecture methodologies, techniques, and implementation.
  • Experience with tools such as Draw.IO and Miro.
  • Experience with developing content following the Agile development methodology.
  • An understanding of cloud-based software and Saas
  • Motivated by a fast-paced environment where you will have to constantly adapt - no two days are the same!

  • You will support teams across Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA and India and being able to work across multiple time zones is advantageous.
