ECS is seeking an Technical Writer - Cybersecurity to join our team in our Portland, OR office (Hybrid).
This position is located in the Portland, OR area. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 – 3 of days on-site support. The ideal candidate is a strong technical writer with some background in cybersecurity. This role will require excellent customer-facing skills to update or create effective, clear, and accurate policies, processes, procedures, and other technical documentation for a new ISCM Program.
Core Capabilities
- Demonstrable technical writing expertise, with the ability to create accurate, user-friendly, technically proficient documentation
- Knowledge of cybersecurity terms, roles, and systems
- Understanding of federal and regulatory compliance processes and documentation requirements
- Ability to collaborate with technical team and customer Subject Matter Experts to ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation
- Capable of interpreting or creating technical documentation, graphics, SOPs, policies, and processes
- Ability to document highly technical processes and incorporate them into user manuals
- Able to provide templates, procedures, and a style guide if needed to create and maintain consistency
- Provide research on best practices
- Ensure project team members and stakeholders are kept apprised of progress or roadblocks through regular formal team meetings, and project details are updated
- US Citizenship
- Requires obtaining a DOE Public Trust before starting, and the ability to obtain a DOE L clearance if needed
- Strategically minded to understand and incorporate how and where policies, processes, reports, and dashboards connect across the larger program
- Excellent communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders at various levels of technical proficiency
- Strong organizational skills to document, store, and track multiple efforts across the project
- A minimum of 5+ years of directly relevant experience
