Walmart Advanced Systems and Robotics is seeking a Technical Trainer to be a part of our Learning & Technical Documentation (LTD) team. You will be responsible for delivering a range of blended technical training programs applicable to our unique technology, either in-house or on-site. You must have industrial electro/mechanical automation and OSHA safety experience, effective program management skills, and a good understanding of the ADDIE training model.

You will build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, keeping yourself up-to-date on product features and functionalities. You will also work closely with our Learning and Technical Documentation team (LTD) lead to research, plan and implement training programs that meet the current and future needs of the organization.

What you'll work on:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in engineering, IT infrastructure, operations and service to deliver training and certification programs, used by our Automated Micro Fulfillment Center system operators & maintenance technicians.
  • Develop training plans, courses, training materials, and certification curriculums.
  • Convey highly technical data using a variety of training delivery methods, including videos, simulations, team activities and group discussions.
  • Own responsibility for successful implementation of our train-the-trainer model.
  • Assign E-learning courses; organize and deliver hands-on training sessions.
  • Effectively use our Learning Management System (LMS) to track course completions and certify trainees.
  • Manage assigned activities including training execution, evaluation and feedback to Instructional Designers, including effective resolution of identified training challenges.
  • Master the ongoing management of Technical Training resources, training equipment and training delivery processes.
  • Collect data and feedback to support Technical Training metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI), helping to demonstrate effective use of resources, high utilization factors and overall training effectiveness. Create and share reports on the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Capture field related information to share with respective product teams for enhancing product reliability.
  • Create additional content and perform administrative work as required.

What we're looking for:

  • 4 to 8 years of experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of technical training programs, preferably with a focus on ADDIE process, Industrial Automation, Market Fulfillment Operations and OSHA Worker Safety.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technical Education, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering technical training for complex engineering systems.
  • Significant experience in highly technical environments with electro-mechanical systems, automation, advanced software, or other industrial automation applications.
  • Exceptional communication and training delivery skills.
  • Expert level knowledge and experience with regulatory requirements applicable to Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Hazardous Energy Control, Confined Space Safety, Construction Safety and Material Handling.
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills necessary to independently anticipate, analyze, advise, recommend, and implement solutions to complex issues.
  • Experience operating among a diverse group of technical professionals, resolving issues effectively and partnering with staff on diverse projects and programs.

Travel Requirement:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 60% of the time to train at various sites throughout the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and move tools that weigh on average of 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head while on-site.
  • Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Ability to work in all environments (Ambient, Chilled and Frozen) and confined spaces using approved PPE.
