Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

In this role, you will provide application, troubleshooting, and system configuration support to scientists and laboratory professionals using Thermo Scientific NanoDrop instruments via phone and email. You will also create and maintain a wide range of technical documentation, including user manuals, application notes, and troubleshooting guides.

While no two days are the same, responsibilities typically include approximately 80% technical support and 20% special projects, including marketing and application development support.

We’re looking for someone who is outgoing, confident communicating with other scientists, and comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting, enjoy taking ownership of your work, and are motivated by delivering outstanding customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain deep technical expertise in Thermo Scientific NanoDrop instrumentation, including computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and core molecular biology techniques.
  • Provide responsive, high-quality technical support via phone, email, and web-based channels.
  • Maintain and update NanoDrop troubleshooting guides and other internal support resources.
  • Contribute to technical documentation such as user guides, protocols, and application notes.
  • Perform additional duties as needed in response to new procedures, technologies, or business needs.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field and 2+ years of laboratory experience, or
  • 2 years of experience in a technical support role with direct customer interaction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues involving complex scientific instrumentation through remote support.
  • Strong foundation in life science technologies and molecular biology methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated experience writing technical documents such as protocols or application notes.
  • Familiarity with the operation and architecture of Windows operating systems.
  • Effective time-management skills and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work constructively with peers and management.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the organization and a strong commitment to customer service.
