What you will be doing:
- Handling the installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of Linux servers.
- Proactively monitoring system performance, capacity, and overall health.
- Investigating and resolving technical incidents and general service requests.
- Managing OS patches, vulnerability remediation, and system security hardening to ensure compliance.
- Providing ongoing database support, including performing necessary backups and restores.
- Troubleshooting networking, connectivity, and various infrastructure-related issues.
- Managing file systems, user/group permissions, and supporting application deployments.
- Developing technical procedures and participating in after-hours or standby support to assist customers and internal teams.
What our client is looking for:
- 3 - 5 years of relevant background in technical support, infrastructure support, or Linux administration.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise Linux environments, specifically RHEL and AlmaLinux, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of essential networking protocols and tools such as DNS, TCP/IP, SSH, NFS, and firewall management.
- Capability to automate tasks and manage infrastructure using Bash scripting and Python.
- Experience with server monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of Linux security hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and adherence to compliance standards.
- Experience working with Apache, Tomcat, and Java-based enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V) and container technologies like Docker and Podman.
- Proven experience in managing backup solutions and implementing disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and customer support abilities are essential.
