Overview & Responsibilities
The Technical Supplier Coordinator Supervisor is the primary technical liaison between EEE and the approved suppliers of fabricated and machined components. These components may be in the form of individual parts, assemblies or sub-assemblies. The function of this position is to further clarify Elliott drawings, specifications, and requirements for the purpose of improving component manufacturability. This communication will be in the form of on-site meetings, as well as phone and email correspondence. In addition to working with and developing the suppliers, coordination with Elliott Engineering, Drafting, and Manufacturing will be required for the resolution of drawing and process discrepancies uncovered during supplier correspondence. Additionally, the supervisor leads the team of Technical Coordinators within the department and develops the team to improve EEE and supplier performance.
Background and Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Quality, Engineering or another related technical field
- 10 years’ applicable manufacturing or machining experience is required
- A minimum of three years’ experience in the direct supervision of hourly personnel in a manufacturing or machining environment
- A Quality Certificate such as; ASQ, CQE, COA, CQT, CRE, Six Sigma Black Belt, CWI, or equivalent is preferred.
- The individual must possess and utilize analytical skills with a working knowledge of castings, machining, and fabrication methods.
- Position requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.

Responsibilities
Lead the team of Supplier Technical Coordinators to improve the quality and on-time-delivery of EEE’s supply base.
Plan and organize projects and selects tools and methodologies to make improvements.
Direct suppliers in the most efficient manufacturing methods to best assure quality product
Conduct Pre-Manufacturing meetings with suppliers.
Resolve supplier questions as they relate to EEE drawings and/or processes
Analyze supplier defects for the purpose of assisting them in establishing preventive action
Develop technical information in the form of guidelines and checklists for use in manufacturing of Elliott components
Create procedures for the management of suppliers
Interact with Elliott Engineering and Manufacturing in the resolution of drawing and process discrepancies
Conduct supplier audits for the purpose of qualification, re-qualification, and general performance improvement.
Track supplier related nonconformances and generate supplier corrective actions.
Review supplier First Article Inspection Data (drawings, casting flow models, technical specifications, etc.) and provide feedback to the supplier on risks and solutions to mitigate risks.
Supervision: This position is the supervisor for the Supply Chain Quality department. Direct supervisory responsibilities will include a team of Technical Supplier Coordinators and may include directing third party inspectors. There is authority for hiring, discharging or salary planning of the Technical Supplier Coordinators.
