What you’ll achieve


As a Technical Staff, Engineering Technologist (EE), you will be responsible for putting the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality, and quality, as well as industry standards.
You will:

  • Design and develop electrical architecture for mobile equipment and their hardware systems. Determine and communicate design approaches and parameters

  • Drive system architecture definition for assigned program, and ensure consistency/compatibility with other products (both new/legacy) as necessary

  • Oversee experimental/proof of concept tests and evaluate results. Select components based on analysis of specifications, cost, continuity of supply, and reliability

  • Review original design manufacturer and sub-tier vendor proposals and capability to support product development and production

  • Ensure that designs integrate with rest of product functions including mechanical and software. Create and maintains required documentation including specifications. Ensure the manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs. Support specialized electrical sub-systems such as power, batteries, comms, graphics, component, memory, etc

Essential Requirements

  • 10 years' experience in product design

  • Work experience and deep knowledge of X86 and/or ARM architecture

  • Prior mobile EE architecture experience

  • Technical experience in OS integration


Desirable Requirements

  • Graduate degree is a plus

  • Working with Asian ODM partners and experience running a core team

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $216,750 - $336,600.
