The Configuration Center Technical Specialist supports the technical and operational activities of a high-volume device configuration and bundling environment supporting a major technology client. This role combines hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting, device imaging, quality assurance, and day-to-day warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and is comfortable working at the intersection of IT and operations. This individual will troubleshoot hardware and system issues, support SAP-related questions, perform device testing and imaging, and ensure configured products meet customer quality requirements before shipment.
YOUR TASKS
- Support the day-to-day operations of a technology configuration and bundling center, ensuring devices are configured, tested, and processed according to customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system issues affecting production and warehouse operations.
- Perform Out of Box Audits (OBA) by testing configured devices, verifying functionality, and re-imaging devices when necessary.
- Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) to verify that the first device produced meets customer specifications and quality expectations.
- Document inspection results and submit required quality information to the customer for approval.
- Use imaging and research tools to load fresh device images, troubleshoot configuration issues, and support production requirements.
- Provide technical support for SAP-related issues impacting warehouse and configuration center operations.
- Investigate technical issues and identify root causes to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
- Partner with warehouse, operations, IT, quality, and customer teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth daily operations.
- Follow established processes, quality standards, and customer-specific requirements for device configuration and testing.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve technical processes, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with new processes, programs, and configuration center initiatives as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a technical operations, IT support, configuration center, manufacturing, warehouse technology, or similar environment.
- Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting computers, hardware, software, and technical systems.
- Experience with device imaging, re-imaging, configuration, or deployment.
- Experience working with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred.
