As Technical Specialist-Technical support within the MRI R&D organization, you will be responsible for installing, supporting, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting state-of-the-art MRI Systems within the Development Test Environment (DTE). The role plays a critical part in ensuring the availability, safety, quality, and performance of MRI systems used by Verification, validation and development teams at Bangalore.

The position requires strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical system installation, system integration, hardware and software configuration management, root-cause analysis, and stakeholder collaboration. You will contribute to MRI development projects by supporting integration, testing, verification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The System Integration & Verification (SIV) department is part of the global MR R&D organization. Our primary responsibility is to ensure that complete and fully integrated MR products meet the requirements as defined in the Product Requirement Specifications. Based in Bangalore (India), Our team is working closely together with R&D departments as well as service and marketing department.

 

Your Role:

 

As DTE Engineer, your responsibilities include:


  • Installation and maintenance of the MRI systems, Hardware simulated machines for test configurations, Implementing hardware prototypes in Test bays and software/hardware labs.
  • Support R&D teams with interoperability settings of test environments.
  • Responsible for the technical status and safe operation of Test Bay.
  • Installation of high-power electrical components of a MR system.
  • Ensure overall quality of the Test Bay by Calibration and adjustments of the MR test configurations.
  • Baseline the performance of the MR test configurations
  • Support analysis and debugging of problems reported with the MR test configurations
  • Analysis of root causes of image quality (IQ) problems, like spikes, ghosts and spurious signals
  • Determine root cause of scan aborts or other development related problems
  • Analyzing performance problems, pro-actively involving when required.
  • Coach colleagues on various DTE related aspects
  • Maintain extensive MR system knowledge over various configurations
  • Time and cost-efficient control of the MR test configurations
  • Daily management - planning and allocation and operations of MR test configurations
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics for MRI R&D systems including procurement, shipment coordination, receipt and inspection of goods, and accurate documentation in configuration management tools to ensure material traceability and project support.
  • Manage asset inventory for the MR test configurations
  • Analyzing performance problems, pro-actively involving others when required.
  • Participate in integration, test and verification phases of MR development projects.
  • Responsible for translating his experience and knowledge of our system in generating proposals for improvement in large areas of the MR-system, in supporting others and in improving our development and DTE development processes.
  • The DTE engineer gives 2nd and 3rd level support.
  • Support in system verification and validation activities,
  • Support with customer demonstrations
  • Support in advanced development activities
  • Proactively monitoring technical aspects of the MRI systems installed in test bays
  • Provide training for newly onboarded employees on MR safety and operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Field Service Engineering, Research & Development (R&D), or a related technical environment in MRI systems .
  • Results-driven, customer-focused professional with the ability to perform effectively under pressure and in challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues across hardware and software domains.
  • Hands-on experience in MRI service and maintenance, with valid MRI modality training.
  • Practical experience in managing and servicing MRI cryogenic systems.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and gain stakeholder alignment.
  • High attention to detail and a strong quality mindset in documentation and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.undefinedOnsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.This role is an office-based role.

Skills Required
