Technical Specialist – Paper Division
DuBois Chemicals is a rapidly growing company that provides innovative specialty chemical solutions to numerous industries worldwide. DuBois’ Paper Chemicals Division supports pulp, packaging, paper, and tissue customers. The company is seeking a Technical Specialist to support a fast-growing technology area.
Technical Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth of key technologies at pulp and paper locations across North America. Accountable for working on projects where they serve as the Technical Specialist responsible for developing strategies for new chemical applications at paper mill sites. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the technical support lead for new business development projects at paper manufacturing sites.
- Evaluate and qualify mill sites as new opportunities.
- Develop background data and technical strategies for business opportunities.
- Utilize laboratory techniques and conduct testing to capitalize on sales opportunities.
- Support new application trials by monitoring critical process parameters and conducting laboratory assessments. studies, and analyzing data.
- Determine the customers' return on investment from utilizing key DuBois programs.
- Travel to paper mills to support the Paper & Pulp Sales Representatives in identifying opportunities and solutions.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Paper Science preferred.
- 3+ years of Paper or Pulp industry experience or training is required.
- Ability to act as a technical project leader.
- Ability to develop/deliver recommendations in written or oral communications.
- Ability to learn pulp and paper mill manufacturing process systems and flow diagrams.
- Demonstrated ability to learn laboratory test procedures and best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong influential leadership skills.
- Highly organized strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Superior understanding of value-based selling.
- Proficient in working with all levels within the customers organization, as well as internal business partners.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities/change in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Candidates should reside in an area of the U.S. that offers convenient access to air travel.
- Ability to travel up to 70% including overnight travel.
