Technical Specialist Active Safety and Headlamp Aim

Hybrid This role is hybrid. Requiring the employee to be onsite an average of 3 days per week at Warren or Milford locations.
The Role
The Technical Expert for Active Safety, Headlamp Aim, and Autonomous calibration is the global expert for all manufacturing systems required to calibrate active safety and headlamp aim in our assembly plants. To develop efficient systems, the Tech expert will be in regular contact with product development to provide a voice of manufacturing during the development of new active safety features and headlamp aim processes. Their expertise will guide the development to optimize enterprise-wide process for active safety and headlamp aim with a focus on manufacturability. Cross functional teamwork at a highly technical level is essential for success in this role.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Early involvement with product development to understand impact of new developments on the test systems.
- Provide input for MPS studies.
- Provide guidance and expert support for plan issues that go beyond the expertise of the local teams.
- Leadership of global teams to develop and maintain standards.
- Guide cross functional problem resolution between test software, hardware and product teams.
- Develop new and innovative manufacturing processes and equipment concepts related to HLA and active safety calibration and autonomous vehicles.
- Provide guidance to supplier and execution teams for process and equipment design and problem resolution.
- Maintain and share documentation and manufacturing standards regarding HLA, Active Safety and Autonomous Vehicle Calibration

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience of 10+ Years automotive manufacturing experience
- 7+ Years experience in headlamp aim and active safety calibration.
- Extensive experience with manufacturing processes for Headlamp aim and active safety systems.
- Demonstrated ability to drive manufacturing requirements with the product development team.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with product, program, and plant teams to develop and implement new manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead global initiatives that comprehend and adapt to meet unique regional needs while maximizing core reuse and commonality.
- Ability to make decisions and give technical direction for new and uncertain processes.

- Familiar with FMVSS108 regulations and industry standards
- Cross functionally recognized expert in headlamp aim and active safety technology.
- Working knowledge of product requirements for night vision, long range radar and FCM calibration
